Meet the Founder

My life passion is living and promoting sustainability. A born and raised yooper from the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan, I grew up spoiled with nature. Living out my formative years in this beautiful land shaped my life purpose. To this day, I am convinced that all folks who grew up near water have a shared connection.

With over a decade of experience working as a sustainability professional within the corporate environment, I have been fortunate to apply my personal values to my work in addition to my home life. For the last 15 years, I've worked within environmental and sustainability advocacy ranging from community organizing, lobbying, fundraising, program and project management within corporations, public speaking and volunteering on multiple non-profit boards in leadership roles. I am a TEDx speaker, Media Trained, and participated in interviews on TV and Radio. A facilitator, strategist and wannabe futurist who is on a mission to grow the movement of sustainability, equity and justice. In 2022 I was named a Notable Leader in Sustainability by Crain's Detroit Business.

Some of my hobbies include gardening, hiking, birding, reading, gardening, writing, cooking, meditation, food preservation, travel and staying active. I support equity and justice for all people including actively working to dismantle all systems of oppression: white supremacy, racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, classism, ableism and ageism. I believe in the words of the great Fanny Lou Hammer, "Nobodies free until everybody's free".

    A passionate conduit of system change with a decade of experience in corporate sustainability. Her approach to change centers on community care and prioritizing relationships, creativity, and collaboration. She is an experienced program manager within the healthcare industry, successfully integrating sustainability and supplier diversity into operational and support services including supply chain, facilities, and food services.

    Sarah has her MBA, and project management certification. Sarah is a TEDx speaker, an experienced non-profit board member, and was named “Notable Leader in Sustainability” by Crain's Detroit Business in 2022. In her free time, you’ll find her outdoors with her beagle, gardening, reading, or cooking a plant-forward meal of local produce. Sarah is a born and raised Yooper who believes in putting people over profit.
